Change should be the one constant in your church and ministry.  Pastors are in the business of change. 

In growing churches, one leadership quality that appears time and time again is teachability.

We know that about 90% of people come to church because they were personally invited.  Recently, we learned that about 85% of congregation members have no intention of inviting anyone to church but they would like to.

Summer is a great opportunity to get outside and meet your neighbours.  As a church, it is a great opportunity to engage with your community.

At times, God intends not to advance the kingdom by a direct order impressed on our knower. There are times for a mature leader, schooled in the New Testament Pattern, when there is something that needs doing, something that ‘is not yet but could be’ and God lets us coalesce the passion to chase it as a result of our faith aspiration.

These days there are 5 basic ways people find out that your church exists.  The good news is that all 5 ways can be improved and maximized to dramatically raise the profile of your church and greatly increase your number of visitors.

One of the best ways you can help your congregation engage in missional activity is to remind them that they live where they live for a purpose.

Everything has a life cycle; from birth to death.  Humans only have one life cycle.  A church, however, can have multiple life cycles.  From birth to maturity, to decline, to death, a church must be able to intercept the life cycle at the peak (maturity) in order to gain new life and new momentum.

If we wish to continue rotating on an even keel, the three components of our life, Physical, Emotional and Spiritual must rotate in balance and harmony. Any one of them, under or over-weighted, can throw us into a state of dis-equilibration.

When I talk about churches being “on mission” I often hear a reply full of disdain, “does that mean you want us to be seeker-sensitive??!?”  As I press further, I learn that these individuals believe that being seeker-sensitive means watering down our theology, spirituality, and morality.
