We The Called
The conversation has been shifting.
We have been alerted to the leadership gap across all sectors for several years, but particularly important (at least to us) in our churches.
How will we fill ministry leadership positions as the older generations enter retirement?
This question has led us to our knees in prayer and to collaboration around strategy.
We need to be intentional about developing the next generation of ministry leaders. We can pray that God prompts the leaders to develop themselves – that would be awesome – He could and does do that.
But we must do our part to ensure that young leaders, called by God, do not slip through the cracks. We must honour and steward the potential in our midst and help students grow in their understanding of God’s purposes for them.
So we have been formulating an intentional pathway for students 12-24 years old who have felt a prompting that they might be called to vocational ministry. This pathway will include:
Resources, mentoring, events, seminars and opportunities to engage in ministry
Resources for youth pastors
An annual retreat
I am excited about our opportunity to invest in young people and to call potential out of them, potential that they might not have eyes to see yet. We get to show students the incredible life it is to serve Him in ministry.
So what about you?
You want to invest in an initiative like this? We’d love to have partners come alongside! Email me at kevin@abnwt.com.
Do you know a student who might be called to vocational ministry? Send them to www.abnwt.com/wethecalled.
Together, we will raise up a new generation of ministry leaders that will reach people other generations cannot reach, disciple believers in innovative ways, and help the church flourish around the world. Together!!
