Revival Is Rising in the North: What We Witnessed Across the Northwest Territories

Hey friends, it’s Travis here. I want to take a moment to share something that has deeply marked me—something I believe is not just a story, but a sign. Over the last number of days, our team has travelled through Yellowknife, Hay River, the Kátł’odeeche First Nation, and Fort Resolution. And I can say this with absolute conviction:

God is moving in the North in a way that demands our attention.

I’ve always believed revival would come to Canada. But after what we’ve seen in these communities, I’m more convinced than ever that it’s going to start in the North.

A Call We Couldn’t Ignore

This entire journey began with a stirring—a sense from the Lord that we needed to go north. Not someday. Not eventually. But now.

When we reached out to Kevin and the leadership team in Hay River, they told us they had been praying. Praying for those communities that were crying out. Praying for where God wanted us to go. Praying for places desperate to feel the love and presence of Jesus again.

And one community kept rising to the surface: Fort Resolution.

A community where the church has essentially been shut down for three to four years. A community isolated not just geographically but spiritually. A community filled with people who had been saying, “God, send someone.”

When we heard that, we knew—we needed to come. We needed to show up. We needed to carry the love of Jesus to a place that felt forgotten.

Yellowknife: Strengthening What God Has Started

Our first stop was Yellowknife, where we spent time with Pastor James and his new congregation. If you’ve ever been part of a church plant in a northern city, you know the challenges. You also know the hunger.

And what we saw there was hunger.

We prayed with people, encouraged leaders, worshipped together, and reminded the young congregation that God is building something significant in their city. It felt like the Lord was preparing our hearts for everything that would follow.

A Fight to Get There—But Worth Every Moment

Northern travel is unpredictable. Delayed flights, last-minute changes, highways shifting from gravel to snow-covered ice in minutes—you name it, we hit it. But every obstacle felt like a sign that a breakthrough was close.

When we finally made it to Hay River, we didn’t rest long. There was urgency. We drove straight to Fort Resolution to hold a service—simple, raw, and full of expectation.

And God moved immediately.

Two people gave their lives to Christ that first night.

Think about that: in a community where salvations had been rare for years, Jesus stepped into the room and changed eternal stories in a single evening.

We saw deliverance. We prayed for healing. We watched tears fall as people encountered the presence of Jesus in a way they hadn’t experienced before.

I’ll never forget it.

Back to Fort Resolution—Because God Wasn’t Done Yet

The next day, our team split up. Some returned to Hay River, but several of us felt we needed to go back to Fort Resolution.

Even if it meant driving three hours round-trip.
Even if it meant pushing through exhaustion from delayed flights.
Even if it meant rearranging everything on the schedule.

Because when God starts something, you go where He goes.

That night? Eight more people gave their lives to Jesus.

Ten salvations in two days in a small northern community.

I don’t care what anyone says—when hearts open that wide, that fast, in a place that isolated, that is a move of God.

And I kept sensing the Lord whisper, This community is not forgotten.

KFN and Hay River: Breakthrough After Breakthrough

The following night, we were on the Kátł’odeeche First Nation Reserve. Again, we saw God move in power. People received prayer for healing. People cried out to Jesus to break addiction. Darkness lost ground. Hope broke in.

There was such a tangible sense of freedom—like the Holy Spirit was sweeping across the room, lifting heaviness off people.

Then came our service at the Hay River Pentecostal Chapel, and once again the gospel pierced hearts. Six people surrendered their lives to Christ.

People who had been away from church for years walked in the door.
People battling hopelessness found life.
People who thought change wasn’t possible declared, “I need Jesus.”

Momentum—holy, unstoppable momentum—was building.
And it wasn’t emotional hype.
It was a genuine transformation.

Why the North Matters So Much

Some might ask, “Why go north? Why spend the money, the energy, the travel time?”

Because hunger is here.
Because longing is here.
Because faithfulness is here.
Because wounds are here that only Jesus can heal.

When we look across Canada, it’s easy to focus on revival in the south—big cities, big churches, big gatherings. But what we witnessed proves something:

If there is revival coming to our nation, it may begin in places no one expects—small communities, remote towns, reserves, places where people have been quietly praying for years.

The North is not peripheral to what God wants to do.
The North is pivotal.

A Thank You That Comes From the Depths of My Heart

Everything we saw—every salvation, every healing, every moment of breakthrough—was possible because people like you have believed in this ministry. Because you’ve prayed. Because you’ve given. Because you’ve said, “Yes, we believe the gospel must go to every corner of our nation.”

To our donors, partners, and friends:
Thank you.

You helped us reach places many people will never travel to.
You helped us stand in rooms where spiritual hunger is deep.
You helped us tell entire communities, “You are not forgotten by God.”

Because of your generosity, we were able to go.
And because we went, lives were changed—forever.

This Is Just the Beginning

Here’s what I know in my spirit:

We are at the beginning of something historic.

There are more communities like Fort Resolution—places with dormant churches, places waiting for hope, places with people praying quietly, “God, please send someone.”

And He is answering their prayers.

I believe this with all my heart:

Canada shall be saved—from coast to coast to coast.

Revival isn’t coming someday.
Revival isn’t a distant dream.
Revival is rising now—in the North, in small towns, in isolated places, in hearts hungry for Jesus.

So let’s keep praying.
Let’s keep going.
Let’s keep believing.

Because God is moving.
And He is far from finished.
