4 Fantastic Outreaches To Do In the Spring

The sky is brightening. The air is warming. The snow is melting – well, not quite yet. But spring is coming, and this is a great opportunity to reach your community in the coming months. Your church can make a difference in your community by meeting the needs of your community. Building bridges of relationship and connection to the people who are not yet a part of your church but will be one day.

Ready to think about spring outreaches? Here are four fantastic outreaches you can do this spring.

  1. Spring Break Day Camp. One day, two days, three days or more. Plan a day camp that reaches families with young kids. Focus on non-churched kids in your community by partnering with your local school for advertising. You don’t have to make it a complicated affair. Have a registration capacity of the number of kids you can accommodate and create a waitlist for those you can’t.

  2. Community Clean Up. Cleaning up parks, streets and schools is a low-cost way to show your community you care. Get a few groups of people to go out when the snow melts and clean up the area. Take pictures and post them to social media with the #welove(city name). It’s a simple gesture that creates goodwill in your community and might pave the way to future relationships.

  3. Finance Course. With tax time coming and Christmas behind everyone, spring is a great time to focus on finances. There are several great options for a Christian worldview on finances. Contact coach@abnwt.com for a free finance course created by Alberta-based financial coaches.

  4. Family Fun Nights. A family fun night is where you invite parents with young children to attend a fun event with their kids, such as a lego party, a pirate adventure, or a carnival. It’s a simple night where people can invite other families and enjoy games, treats and family fun. Run the event from 6:30-8:30 PM as a drop-in with stations set up around the room. Have a place for families to sit and snack and get a great host team to welcome and connect with guests. Invite them back on Sunday and continue to make connections with young families.

Don’t wait till the snow melts to plan your spring outreach. Just do one of these things in the coming months to get outside the four walls of your church and engage your community for coaching on how to reach your community, email coach@abnwt.com.
