4 Ideas To Celebrate Moms in Quarantine

Next to Easter, Mothers Day is an incredible opportunity for the church to see visitors coming to the church. Often times, relatives who do not regularly attend church will find themselves in church on Mothers Day at the behest of their mom. It’s a great opportunity to invite people to “taste and see” what following Jesus is all about.

This Mothers Day (May 10, 2020) is a unique opportunity to celebrate Moms and reach people who are far from God. Here are 4 ideas to celebrate moms in quarantine.

1.  Host Mothers Day Watch Parties

Just like you would encourage moms to invite their families to join them at church, encourage moms to host watch parties and invite their families to join them for church on Sunday.

2.  Do Porch Photos

Many churches have been utilizing photographers in their church to take family photos on Mothers Day Sunday. Why not assemble a few photographers to drive around Sunday afternoon and take photos of families in the church standing on their porch. This will take some registration and coordination but you’ll get some great interaction as porch photos during quarantine have become a bit of a trend.

3. Special Mothers Day Delivery

Assemble special mothers day blessing kits with a special treat (candle, cookie, cupcake, flower, seeds) and a written blessing for moms. Take photos of your team delivering these items and share them on social media.

4.  Highlight Moms In Your Online Service

Ask moms in your church to take photos of themselves at home or send a video of them talking about what following Jesus means to them and incorporate them in your online service. You can also feature some of your kids in this service as well.

Make the day special and use social media to highlight what you are doing and invite people to join you. What are you going to do this Mothers Day?
