Minister’s Gathering is a four day event for District Pastors and their spouses that focuses on spiritual enrichment, personal refreshing, and connection with others. Featuring guest speakers and resources designed to equip and support you, you will be sure to leave this weekend feeling connected and renewed.

You’ll receive top-notch, motivational content that will support your work 365 days of the year. We’re working hard to make sure you leave equipped with the tools you need to help your church thrive in clear and practical ways.

This is when we get to rally together and encourage each other to complete the mission set before us. At this event you’ll meet new people, connect with other pastors like you, and build relationships that are vital for thriving churches.

Bring your spouse or family and get away to rest, find new inspiration, and enjoy life away from regular home and work. This is your time to unwind, do things you love, and focus on self-care and life-building activities.

District Conference

District Conference Business

Historically, almost half of the churches in our District have had to choose between attending either District Conference or Minister’s Gathering. We understand that finances are an issue, and attending these events is not even a reality for many. That’s why we have decided to combine District Conference and Minister’s Gathering in 2019. The District invests substantially into both these events. By combining the two, not only will we join in one place, we will be able to reallocate resources, increase efficiency, and plan more intentionally to serve you better.

What’s being voted on?

Churches are encouraged to send lay delegates to the business session. In consideration of the Conference, resolutions should be submitted to the Chairman of the Resolutions Committee in care of the District Office twenty days (January 14) prior to the conference. The elections for the following are scheduled: four District Leadership Team (ie. ABNWT board) member elections and any resolutions.

Equipping you to do ministry

Check out what our pastors had to say

The best thing about this conference was the practicality. I imagine that every pastor could take something tangible and implementable from the time together.

Kevin Janzen

The welcome, the worship and the speakers were awesome and very uplifting. I left the conference encouraged, with a fresh focus and drive.

Simon Sichangwa

My favourite part of the conference was connecting with other leaders of likeminded passions who understand where you’re at and can encourage each other.

Vahen King

Is there childcare?

Childcare will be available for children ages 1-5 years. Childcare for children 6+ may be available on a per session basis. Click here to read our Childcare Policies.

Are meals provided?

There are no regular meals provided during the conference. We encourage you to connect with other Pastors in our District and enjoy some of the wonderful restaurants Banff has to offer. And, of course, we’ll have our regular “Eat and Meet” with some great appetizer foods and multiple coffee breaks to fuel you up.

Will there be voting this year?

Starting in 2019, we will be combining Minister’s Gathering and District Conference, so there will always be voting at Minister’s Gathering in Banff. These sessions will be streamlined and organized so that we can complete constitutional business with efficiency and clarity.

What are the dates for 2020?

February 3-6, 2019.

Will District Conference always be a part of Minister's Gathering now?

Yes our hope is to consolidate events and resources to bring you a better experience that you can look forward to year after year.

Is there financial assistance?

We are “better together” and hope every lead pastor in our District will be able to attend this event. If money is tight or you’re travelling a long distance, please contact our office to see if you qualify for a subsidy. For assistance, contact Corey Randell.
