BASEcamp 2018

As we all know, women can be busy. We long for significance and we long to make a difference.  While this is often a great pursuit, it can also become a distraction from our primary pursuit, the heart of God.

This weekend away is intended to be a time to refocus & reflect. This annual, spring, all-inclusive weekend is perfect for any woman looking for spiritual refreshment. This is also a great opportunity for churches to build connection among their women.   Whether you come with friends or come by yourself, you will not be alone.

MINISTRY GUESTS

Kim Moran

Kim Moran

Guest Speaker

Over the last 10 years, Kim has served as a youth pastor, director of a not-for-profit organization, a campus pastor, a Bible College professor, and most recently became one half of the Lead Pastoral Team at Abbotsford Pentecostal Assembly in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Kim’s passion for the Bible, her inspiring story of hope and healing, and her desire to see people’s lives changed by the presence of the Holy Spirit resonates with people of all ages. While her favourite things include warm fires, smoothie bowls and travelling, if you ask her what she really loves she’ll gush about her husband Clark, her passion for ministry, and her love for the God who has never left her side.

Lee-Ann Tonn

Lee-Ann Tonn

Worship

Lee-Ann Tonn has had a lifelong passion for music and worship ministry. She has been leading worship for the past 10 years and believes that there is power in the praises of God’s people. Lee-Ann and her husband Kevin, have been married for 24 years. Together they are raising their seven children on their acreage just outside of Edmonton, AB. Her hobbies include walking around her house turning off lights and keeping the fridge stocked. She also has a passion for orphan care and co-leads a support group for foster and adoptive parents at her church. She dreams about some day reading an entire book, but until then will be satisfied with reading the first two chapters of every book she owns.

Give

We will be participating in a Silent Auction and Offering throughout the weekend. The auction is very competitive and fun, and the funds raised will help offset some of the retreat costs, as well as go towards our assigned Missions Project. Please bring donations for the auction (new items only, please) to the retreat centre at the time of sign in. Funds raised go to Zoeprojects.org.

Connect

In this digital age, the most vital part of coming together are the meaningful connections you make with others. This year we’ll be focusing on uniting generations to strengthen women in their time of need. Whether it’s giving and receiving communal advice or sitting down face to face over a creamy latte, we aim to create a space for substantial relationship.

Breathe

BASEcamp is a time set apart where we want you to be able to take a deep breath. Life can be busy and you feel like you’re constantly dealing with a never-ending storm of to-do list items. For one weekend, choose to set it all aside and be still. Take a breath. Seek God. And create space.

FAQs

Can you accommodate my food allergies?

Unfortunately, the venue is not equipped to make special meals for those with allergies. However, there is a fridge, freezer and microwave available onsite for you to bring your own food. The Quad-level rooms are also equipped with kitchenettes. There are a few places in town that offer allergy-friendly options (ie. Chopped Leaf, Wok Box, Booster Juice, Timber Coffee Co., Panago, Sobey’s, etc.). Conference menu selections are available here.

What are the dorm rooms like?

These rooms are actually a lot of fun and a great way to meet new friends! In most scenarios we are able to keep everyone on the bottom bunk. They are in the main building and each fully equipped with a bathroom with a toilet, shower, and two sinks (in a separate room), and are divided into three sleeping areas. We hope to make this space your home away from home for one weekend.

How do the Queen rooms work?

This year, we will be offering more Queen beds to try and meet the demand of for those of you looking for your own space. If you choose to stay on your own, you will pay more than you would if you were to stay in the dorms. If you want to stay in a Queen room but share a bed with your friends, you’ll both get a discount on the upgrade for sharing.

What are the Quad Occupancy rooms?

There are a couple large rooms in Sunnyside Lodge that have two queen beds, a kitchenette, and a fully private bathroom. These can fit four people (two per Queen bed). Each person pays the Quad Occupancy rate.

Is the price of the rooms per night?

No. The price of the rooms covers your accommodations for the entire retreat, which is two nights (or three days).

I want to share a Queen room with someone. How do they sign up?

When you both list each other as roommates, we’ll know to room you together. Try and get them to sign up as soon as possible. These rooms sell out quick! If the rooms sell out before your roommate registers, we’ll have to make special arrangements for their registration.

My roommate changed her mind. What happens now?

If your roommate doesn’t sign up before the registration deadline, we’ll have to change your registration type to Queen Room Single Occupancy, which is a bit higher rate.

Is there a waiting list for the Queen Rooms?

Yes! Please email info@abnwt.com to get your name on the wait list for a Queen Room in case someone who booked one cancels.
